I believe the most powerful tool I have as an artist is my own humanity. The current global landscape of racial, cultural, socio-economic and environmental tensions can be overwhelming at times. Making, seeing and talking about works of art continually challenges me to open my heart and mind, and helps me better understand how to relate to the world. For me, inherent within the making process lies hope. Creative expression and intellectual curiosity, tempered with discipline and mastering skills are the foundation of my studio practice.
